    Take in Alaska’s breathtaking scenery and wildlife from the water on an aquatic adventure that includes a thrilling RIB boat ride and 90-minute kayak voyage through pristine Camp Coogan Bay. Join an expert seafaring guide aboard a Seahawk rigid inflatable vessel for a high-speed ride from Crescent Harbor across open waters surrounded by evergreen forest and snow-capped mountains. Once the boat is docked at a floating base camp, your guide will offer paddling techniques and provide all the gear you’ll need — raingear, boots and a life vest.     The undersea life is literally at your fingertips. Run a finger over a pointy urchin, stroke the smooth sides of an anemone, and admire the foot-long starfish that live within the touch tanks.

    An 800-gallon saltwater tank contains some of the fish and invertebrates found 60 feet below the surface of the ocean. Get eye to eye with deep-dwelling rockfish, sculpins, our resident wolf eel, Wanda, and many others—no scuba gear needed!

    The Alaska Raptor Center provides medical treatment to around 200 injured birds each year.  Although we specialize in raptors, we will aid any wild bird in need.  We strive to heal, rehabilitate and release all of our avian patients, however, some are injured too severely to fully recover and survive in the wild. You’ll see our Raptors-in-Residence, including eagles, hawks, falcons and owls, learn about their habitats and how they came to be permanent residents at the Center.

    The Uppity Moose is a very spacious suite with lots of windows to the treetops. The Uppity Moose offers a high quality queen size log bed and two twin beds, a loveseat, tv for your favorite streaming channels, and huge private bath with both a shower and a bathtub. The bathroom also features a washer and dryer for guest use. The Uppity Moose is located on the second floor of our beautiful Log Cabin Lodge. The huge front deck where evenings can be spent enjoying the serenity of the forest around the gas fire tables is open until 11 pm. Maximum occupancy is 4.

    The Snoozin Moose cabin is filled with charm and conveniences. The cabin has a queen bed, bathroom with shower and toilet, a kitchenette area with a sink, mini refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, table, and chairs.     This cozy 182 sq ft room consists of one (1) Double bed, with a fully renovated, private, bathroom. Each unit has a microwave, coffee/tea maker, and small refrigerator. Free WiFi is also provided. Each room is tastefully decorated in Alaskan decor, and all beds and bedding are brand new. This room is on the riverside of the building, overlooking the lawn and outdoor areas. PLEASE NOTE: No TV (available in our family rooms) in rooms and a MAX of 2 people.

    Experience exciting ziplines, suspension bridges, a rappel, and a spiral staircase on this thrilling Denali zipline tour! Upon arrival at our course, you will meet your certified guides and get outfitted in top-quality gear. Then you head for “zipline ground school” to receive a basic orientation.

    The pace of the three-hour tour is varied, mixing speed and excitement as you zip through the beautiful northern boreal forest, with time to pause and gaze out from viewing platforms and along walks across the long aerial bridges that take in Denali and the expanse of the Alaska Range.

  • River, Ride and Trail $210/person

    This tour incorporates a train ride, a visit to Curry, a ride on a jet boat and the 1/4 mile nature walk at our adventure site. Guests please check in no later than 12:45 pm at Mahay’s office and board the train at about 1 pm along with a Mahay’s naturalist, who will be accompanying throughout the tour.

    There will be light refreshments provided at Curry. All guests are welcome to bring food along on the train.

  • Guided Expedition into Katmai Bush $1595/person

    Enjoy a scenic flight into the true Alaskan bush, flying past expansive glaciers that clothe towering mountains and steaming volcanoes. Spend an unforgettable day hiking 3–5 miles in remote Katmai National Park and Preserve, exploring expansive sedge meadows or salmon-filled streams in Katmai's enormous ecosystem. Your naturalist guide will lead you and the other members of your small group on a day hike, where you will become acquainted with Alaskan Coastal Brown Bears and the amazing country that is their home. 

    Sometime during mid-to-late July, the bears move inland towards a number of streams, chasing the concentration of salmon that are making their way from the ocean to their spawning grounds. Salmon is their chief source of food, nutrition, and fat reserves for denning later in the year. During this time, we travel to Moraine Creek to watch bears fish, hunt, and feed on the millions of red salmon making their way up the creeks.

The key to the freshest tasting Salmon is to catch them in the saltwater before their run begins where their marbled fat content and their ‘wild caught’ taste are complemented by perfect coloring.  The most notorious and sought out King Salmon spend their youth voraciously feeding in our Bays to fatten up for future river spawning.

    This trip is not for the faint-hearted. Bordering on the Gulf of Alaska this trip delivers the best scenery Alaska has to offer and lands over the path of multiple species; Halibut, Giant Lingcod and Yellow Eye Rockfish.  Let’s face it, if this was your local fishing hole, these monsters wouldn’t be there. We spend the day jig fishing for rockfish as we drift over pinnacles on the ocean floor. Halibut are drawn into our bait from the ocean floor which can be anywhere from 30’ of water to 300’. Arm workouts are included on this trip!!
